Whether it’s post construction with commercial or residential cleaning the cleaning challenges are usually the same.
Here are a few of them:
- Tile/Grout Haze (if you had T&G done) – This can be tough to remove if you waste your time with the wrong chemicals.
Use a mild acid such as phosphoric acid from Lowes that you can mix – per directions – with distilled water. It works
- Sheet rock dust – This can be tough so perform a rough cleaning initially vacuuming up as much dust as possible with
a shop vac and then dry dusting. Then – after changing ventilation filters – hit it again but damp mop everything with
a quality cleaning product with a suspension agent such as Spartan Chemical DMQ.
- Tape/putty/etc – Nothing too complex here – goof off and glass razors or sharp/dull edge scrapers depending on what
surface type you are trying to clean.
While there is more to construction cleaning most of the issues our maids or janitorial techs run into are tile/grout haze
and sheet rock dust. By far these can eat up the longest amount of time for any cleaning service or individual wanting DYI.
